Preheat to 375 degrees.

Our air conditioner has suddenly started humming as though it were about to detach and fly off our roof back to its mothership.

This is not good.
This is so not good.

Here in Southern Nevada, we've just stepped off the precipice of our two weeks of Spring into Hell Season, that full five months of unrelenting summer that kills brain cells without mercy and smothers any chance of wetless outdoor activity. To be without a working air conditioner right now, soon, and definitely later in July is simple insanity/death/nonsense/impossible.

And I won't have it, damnit.
So, um, hm. Any ideas? ...Before I bake alive in my bed?

All about you.

"Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end;
then stop."
- Lewis Carrol, Alice in Wonderland -

Time.

I work on Saturdays. It's a feeling like high school. Like you're being left out of... something. It's like a graveyard shift with sun.

And laughing kids outside the window. And two hundred passing boats.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity...

Signed posters and ticket stubs from the Vegas Serenity screening

Last I'll say about it for now because I know you're sick of hearing about it...

Serenity was amazing. Truly fantastic.
I cannot wait for September so that I can see it again.
Hell, I would have enjoyed a second and third showing last night.
